Sue Palavics loves everything that life has to offer, but two of her favorites are weddings and restoration. She just can’t get enough of either. It was simply a matter of time before the two collided and created hers (and her husband, Jozef’s) next adventure.
And those of us that are wedding vendors in Northern Minnesota benefit from that collision and creation that came next.
Sue and Jozef are the proud owners of the Wildnerness Wedding Barn, one of the newest barn venues in Northern Minnesota. Neither were strangers to the wedding world; they were already well known for their Wilderness Lodge and Capel in the Woods. Sue’s dream, however, was to expand their current offerings into something more. Much more. Sue wished to “create a truly one–of–a–kind venue that offers unparalleled privacy in a woodland setting that is both rustic and elegant, where couples can create their own magical storybook wedding of their dreams.”
Together, these two have done just that. On a beautiful 42-acre parcel of land they found not only Norway pine groves, but a 120-year old barn that has become the Wilderness Wedding Barn. Next to the beautiful barn sits what was a machine shed in a former life; now it serves as getting ready rooms for the couple about to say “I do” in the pine grove that serves as an intimate, romantic, one-of-a-kind ceremony space. Post-ceremony, friends and family can enjoy a beverage at the Bin Barn while playing lawn games before a wonderful reception and party.
From a photographer’s perspective, this property is a dream come true. From the pines to the gorgeous red barn to all the little touches from Sue and Jozef that are tucked into each and every corner of the property, anything you could possibly dream for your wedding portraits is a possibility. So much thought and attention to detail was paid on the cleints’ behalf, so all any couple needs to do is show up and celebrate.
