This includes a copy of 100-page KLP Wedding Experience Guide (included in every welcome gift), strategy and consultation calls to work though wherever you may be stuck at your planning, emails with tips and hacks, and timeline development to be sure everything appears just as you envisioned it. You will also have access to my ever-growing list of sought after vendors to help you build a wedding day dream team.
I stand by my statement that this is your story, and it should be told in your words, not mine. For this reason, I give you a choice when it comes to you booking gift for packages 8 hours in length or longer: A one-hour engagement session or print/album credit. It your wedding, your life, your legacy, so you deserve to choose your own adventure.

You aren't hiring just a wedding photographer.
You are hiring a personal historian. Someone who is bearing witness to one of your greatest story ever told. You are selecting a storyteller who will visually write the tale that your images will tell. The vibrancy of your day's memories will desaturate and fade over time, so you are doing more than choosing a photographer. You are putting your trust and legacy into their hands, and that is not something to take lightly, and it isn't something just anyone can do for you.
After over ten years in the wedding industry, degrees in PR and Communications, and training in photojournalism and history, I know how your day is going to run, and I know my role in your legacy. I say with confidence your day is in good hands when my camera’s in mine.
And because of this, no two weddings are the exact same...so their photography experience shouldn't be, either. For that reason, all KLP packages are custom created to suit your needs.
Couples working with Kayla Lee typically invest $4800, which includes 9 hours of coverage, two photographers, and an engagement session.

While it may sound cliche, I legit am trained to tell stories. With an undergraduate degrees in English and History as well as a Masters of Arts in Communications, storytelling is pretty much all I know (that and 1980s movie quotes and Beatles + American rock/punk lyrics).

I am just as afraid of being in front of the camera as anyone else, and I am a pretty solid introvert. Because of this, I come with experience and training to know how to prompt you effortless, flawlessly, and so you forget I am even there.

Wedding photography is a lot reading between the lines. Instead of lines, however, it is moments. With my training in both fine art portraiture as well as the tenants of photojournalism, I know not only what looks good on camera, but also where those secret, meaningful moments that otherwise will go missing live. Knowing that both posed and candid have a time and place at your celebration--and knowing when and where each are most applicable--gives your gallery a well-rounded vision AND feel.
The same approach as with everything: Communication. Hopefully starting here on this website you see that I don't like to leave any word stone unturned, any question unanswered. That will hold true through your photography experience; from your custom quote to the KLP Wedding Experience magazine that comes after booking to the chats/emails/questionnaires/apps (yes, apps!) that come before and after your celebration, I strive to make sure you know I am always here for you in any way I can.
There is always a sneak peek on social media (and in your inbox) within 72 hours, along with other breadcrumbs of your gorgeous gallery in the days the follow. Final fully gallery deliver will be in four to six weeks after the event date.
Weddings in Minnesota and bordering states (North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan) will not incur any additional travel fees. Elsewhere in the United States and worldwide will be negotiable depending on travel and visa requirements. That is far from set in stone, as I am more than flexible and willing to take workcations for your celebration.
In addition to being one of Minnesota's few hybrid photographers (meaning I use digital and film cameras), I adore fine design, and it is an additional service that can be added a la carte to any package. This includes anything under the banner of a design suite (save the dates, invitation, table numbers, thank you cards, programs, menus, etc.) as well as heirloom albums and photo books. You don't have to ask me twice to be down to design, which is something that is known to be uniquely KLP.
The typical payment schedule is a non-refundable retainer of $1500 to reserve the date with the remaining balance due one month before. That is, however, completely flexible and can be adapted to any budget. Payments can be made via credit card or ACH/Bank transfers via the payment portal in HoneyBook (think PayPal for creatives).
I have photographed weddings in every corner of Minnesota and have seen nearly every form and style of venue. Barns, wineries, mansions, historic buildings, hotel ballrooms, backyards, lakeshore, fields...the list is as varied as what the Land of 10,000 lakes has to offer. I welcome the variety, and love knowing how to do my job in any photographic scenario in which I might find myself (meaning I can do the best by you, for you).
Of course! Upon inquiry, access will be granted to a KLP Sample Album, which will allow you to see a full day, from details to dances (the exception being family formals, which I hold back out of respect for the families' privacy). In the meantime, please check out the portfolio page, which will have a collection of galleries to peek at before you formally request a custom quote.

I am a big believer that your wedding photography package should be exactly what you need it to be to tell your story. For this reason, all KLP packages are custom created for you based on your needs as indicated through your inquiry. Once I receive your inquiry, I calculate what it would be for you to receive exactly what you want for your experience, including flexible booking gifts and a la carte add-ons. Every package has a base price of $4000, but what we do with that is up to you and what you envision for your celebration. Submit a formal inquiry to see what we can create, just for you.

The ball starts rolling when you submit a formal inquiry. That form will tell me all the details I need to create your custom photography quote.
CUSTOM PROPOSAL DELIVERY
After I work through your wedding day needs, I will draft a custom photography proposal. That proposal will contain a few quotes that I feel fit your coverage requests.
CLIENT MEETING
Once you view your custom proposal, you are invited to schedule a consultation chat where we will discuss the proposal in greater detail. It is during this call where we will also complete any changes or additions to your proposal.
CONTRACT DELIVERY
Once we have drafted a proposal that we all love, a contract and invoice for services will be delivered to you via email. That’s how we get this signed, sealed, and delivered
THE FUN BEGINS
Once we are officially official, we get down to business. A wedding guide will be delivered to your door, emails will come at strategic times to help you on your planning path, and more. All you have to do is sit back and trust us to do what you hired us to do.
