I grew up in the northern Minnesota forest. For the longest time, I didn’t know there was anything else to the 32nd state besides trees, more trees, and Lake Superior. Wedding photography has allowed me to explore more than every before, and now I know that Minnesota is most definitely a land of contrast. From the iron mines of the northeast arrowhead to bluffs of the southeastern corner, the land of 10,000 lakes offers way more than just lakeshore. Somedays it seems like it has as much variety geographically as it does bodies of water.
That’s what flew two plains-dwelling lovebirds north from their southwestern corner to the land of lumber in the north central part of the state. Kayla and Cody, the aforementioned cuties, chose the heart of Itasca County–a county noted for its role in paper production and the lumber industry–for their destination “I do.” These southern Minnesotans wanted a northern Minnesota forest wedding, and they were going to get it. When they found Wilderness Wedding Barn and their classic, magical, beautiful chapel in the tall pines, they were smitten, and north they came (along with 125 of their closest friends and family AND one of the coolest cars ever).
These two, they deserve all the magic. Very few people are as kind and sweet as Kayla and Cody. Between them, they have a love of dogs, cars, Disney movies, and rock music (their first honeymoon is to a rock music festival). They are adventurers through and through, and will no doubt have years of exploration and experience ahead of them.
