Hi there! Welcome to the KLP Blog, a journal about all the things that I love about life. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm kayla.

Kaitlynn and Adam met me one early October evening, which turned out to be a beautiful mix of summer and fall—comfortably warm temperatures mixed with a pop of fall color. It was indeed a gorgeous night for an engagement session.
Bentley the Puppy couldn’t have agreed more, even though there were times when he wondered what the heck his people parents were doing.
They are what we call “in love,” Baby Bentley. And it was that love that brought the four of us to Minneapolis’s Minnehaha Falls—well, us and others who wanted to take an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful night. The beauty of Minnehaha Falls is no laughing matter; despite being located in the middle of development, much of the architecture of the grounds, such as a Victorian train station called the Princess Station, has been preserved. This park is also the new home to the transplanted John H. Stevens house, which was the first authorized home built in what we now know and love as Minneapolis. There is even a 2/3 scale replica of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s Cambridge home, paying respect to his epic poem The Song of Hiawatha, whose titular character falls in love with a lady named Minnehaha.
This evening in this historic place, there were other photographers with their subjects (seniors, by my guestimate), tourists, locals enjoying the natural oasis in the middle of the metropolis. But all that matter to Kaitlynn and Adam was each other (and Bentley). The slight audience was no bother for these two, who relished in the chance to have this time of their lives captured.
Originally from a small town south, these two now call the Twins Cities home. In-between their jobs, they plan their August wedding in Duluth; they will be the lucky ducks who get gorgeous engagement photos by a waterfall and wedding photos near the greatest of the Great Lakes.
But I am the luckiest duck to get to be there for it all.
Here are Kaitlynn and Adam, in their element, in the Indian Summer…
