Cheerful, calm, committed: Hannah I CLASS OF 2017

Sometimes, looking through the lens grants us a great glimpse of the future. We can see a growing love on a wedding day or the first of years of grins and giggles from a brand new baby or even the hope and light of the next generation of a senior session. It is a indescribable feeling, seeing the future before you.

But then sometimes, there are those sessions that are direct flashbacks to another time, another era, another memory. Even more than that, there are the sessions that are like looking into a memoir that is also mirror.

That was my time with Hannah.

Hannah is member of the Class of 2017, and has literally walked my walk. Hannah attends the same high school and community college that I am proud to call my alma mater as well. This gave us plenty of discussion topics as we walked through the autumn woods near her home in the early days of October; we giggled and laughed as she discussed some of the courses she was taking that were the exact same when I took them fifteen years ago (which is a good thing, we decided, as they were pretty good classes). In these moments, it made me really appreciate how things can change so much that it really does indeed come full circle, right back to the beginning to create a new start for the next generation.

This generation is lucky to have someone like Hannah. Cheerful, calm, and committed, she puts herself into everything she does. She has focus and balance and genuinely enjoys life—from her family to her school to her sweet and loving lab (who clearly feels the same way about Hannah).  All of this with one of the warmest smiles ever graciously adorning her face.

Here is Hannah, Class of 2017…

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
