Natural Linen Cultivate What Matters Powersheets sits in a box with a gold floral lid.

It was summer 2020 when I realized I had to go full-time in creative entrepreneurship, and it had to be SOON. I gave myself one more school year to make it happen. I had nine months to save money, create a solid marketing plan for my business, and generate and determine additional streams of revenue. A lofty task, but it HAD to happen.

Enter Cultivate What Matters’s PowerSheets Goal Planner. With the help and guidance of that little pink book, I made big moves and was fully able to leave my full-time teaching job with one year of runway in the bank. I do attriubte much of my success with this goal to the pages in this planner, so I cannot recommend them enough. This could be a Friday High Ten for how much I love them, but I showed a little self-restraint and limited myself to my five favorite aspects of the PowerSheets Goal Planner:

  1. THEY HELP STRESS THE “WHY” OF YOUR GOAL

NO matter what you want to do, there has to be an underlying reason for it; “Just because” is not the foundation on which we cultivate a life that matters. I have found that these PowerSheets are so helpful in helping me find out why I want to accomplish that goal. Uncovering the reasons behind a goal makes it much more achievable because it makes it real.

  1. IT HELPS SET UP GOALS FOR THE WHOLE YEAR

Rather than just making a to-do list, PowerSheets work by creating big yearly goals that are broken down into smaller, monthly goals that are centered around that aforementioned why. These sheets allow you to write the yearly goal, plan what resources are needed to accomplish it, what it looks like if the goal is achieved, and then list out mini goals to accomplish the big goal. It makes it so much more fun to work towards something with this process.

  1. THEY HAVE BUILT IN COLOR CODING SYSTEMS

I am a big into color-coding and stickers, and the PowerSheets system has the coolest

collection of flags, dots, hearts, and other appliques to make goal planning an interactive and organized process.

  1. THEY ARE REALLY, REALLY DURABLE

In my Mary Poppins purse, I carry my journal, my day planner, all the pens and highlighters, an iPad and/or computer, and my PowerSheets. Everything takes a bit of a beating, but the POwerSheets and still like brand new. The gold Wire-O binding is still pristince, the linen cover is still clean and without marks or bends. It is built to last a solid year of heavy goal planning, so it is worth the investment.

  1. THE WILDCARDS ARE WILD

Each month has space for what the crew calls a Wildcard–it’s kind of a choose-your-own-adventure situation where you can pick a page for some extra focus. You can create reading lists, track water, check items off a bucket list…they’re just neat little add ons that make the PowerSheets that much more fun! They keep me invested in them as I will check in to fill out something on the wildcard, and it serves as a reminder to check my tending list.

2022 is right around the corner; I have my year in the works with a new copy of PowerSheets. Check them out and see if they might serve you the way they have helped me!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
