We too often like to use time as an excuse, rather than an opportunity. We see what little we have of it, and rather than enjoy what gifts can be given in that timeframe, we would rather think of what could have been if there were more. We see minutes rather than moments, and many of us cheat ourselves over some of the greatest chances for happiness.

At least most of us do this. Abby and Cameron, however, used each moment of their early relationship to the fullest. Having met via an online dating app just weeks before relocation for college, it would have been easy for them to walk away and wonder what if. Rather than take that chance, they embarked on a long-distance relationship that would take world–but they were willing to put forth the effort to see what could happen. 

What happened was the magic that Abby wished for time and time again. Regular Friday Date Night still happened via digital conferences equipment; every week they would share a screen and a recipe, preparing and enjoying it together. There also thousands of miles flown, as this Minnesota-turned-Missouri girl would get herself even farther south to her Florida love every chance she could (and vice versa). Rather than use their limited time as an excuse to not see how far they could go, they sought out every opportunity it presented. 

Four years later, it presented a ring. A yes. Some tears. A wedding (which came with more tears). And a promise to a wonderful forever for these two.

Congrats again, Mr. + Mrs. Hawkins!
