In the heat of the Minnesota summer sun and the excitement of her recent ceremony, Kristy slightly misspoke.
“So, I think I gave you the wrong timeline that we met,” she wrote in an email after seeing the sneak peek posted to Facebook less than 24 hours after their wedding. “It was actually 2 1/2 years not 1 1/2 years. My mind was a little distracted that day!” It made me chuckle…mainly because I would totally believe these two were only 18 months into their forever. When you know, you know, and Kristy and Kjell, they know.
I knew the minute I hopped onto my first planning call with Kristy that Kjell was her person. Her already light and bright voice shone even brighter whenever she would talk about her fiance. There was no question that she was ready to marry this man.
The same can easily be said of Kjell. WhenI saw him come over the hill near the Pergola Park at Minnehaha Falls, he was ready for his first look and for his forever with Kristy. As I got him into position for this new wedding tradition while we waited for his bride to be Ubered over, he asked the sweetest question.
“Can I kiss her when I see her?”
“Of course,” I replied. And he did just that.
The first look gave way to a few portraits as we awaited the groom’s uncle, Kevin, to officiate their intimate ceremony. Just a handful of friends and family in person and untold numbers online as it was live streamed watched these two say their “I dos” under the classic canopy of the pergola. Kevin’s sermon left everyone with all the feels–there were tears, there were laughs, and there was nothing but love for these two.
