Love and life in the time of Coronavirus has taught us a lot. Sometimes, it seems like a lot that we didn’t need or ever want to know. Other lessons, however, they were important. Personally, it has taught about patience and the importance of believing in one’s self. It also emphasized that being prepared for the unexpected is just as much about being flexible as it is actually being ready. Professionally, it has taught me that some things are totally, 100% worth the wait.
One of those things was the love story of Kelsey and Timmy.
When we met up for their engagement session last June, the three of us were optimistic that by August life would be a form of normal. We were a bit off on that mark. As a change of date became evident, what was not apparent was any hesitation on the part of these two. It was what it was, and they were going to make the most of it.
That’s exactly what they did. In-between the original date of August 29, 2020 and the new date of July 10, 2021. The duo took the time to settle into their new home with their fur babies. They enjoyed time at the lake, celebrated holidays, and generally just lived up a little pre-newlywed life.
When their big day finally arrived, they were more than ready, and knew it was worth the wait. Family and friends are so incredibly important to Kelsey and Tim, so it wouldn’t have been their wedding day with anything less than everyone being able to be there to help celebrate. This included good friend Nick serving as officiant and long-time best friends standing beside them as they excitedly exchanged their vows in Duluth’s iconic Greysolon Ballroom.
As they settle into live as husband and wife, there is no doubt that any life lesson thrown at them they will take in stride and use it as an opportunity to be there for one another, just like they did this past year. Congrats again, Mr. + Mrs. Carruth! Thank you for letting me celebrate with yoU!
