“Oh, she loves the outdoors!”
This was absolute music to my ears when I suggested that Ivy, the pretty little lady I’ve met one time before, spend her three-month session outside. As I’ve said a couple of times, it’s been kind of a mucky, yucky, rainy summer up north; I had hopes for some sun in the south (everyone looks better in the sunshine).
I wasn’t the most optimistic as I sat in a rain delay at Target Field Friday night, but by Saturday morning, the sky was visible, and we could take it outside. A little muggy, yes, but bright and cheery and ready for this shoot.
And it was beautiful—even with the mosquitos. The blue sky above was no rival to Ivy’s deep blue eyes that just sparkled in the natural light. She was every bit the happy baby Mom and Dad said she is; my mini-model withstood five wardrobe change without so much a whimper or a pout. She was all smiles, even towards the very end.
It wasn’t just the lovely’s sweet smiles or the sun above that was heartwarming during this session; the little sentimental elements that were subtly included. A beautiful quilt made by a close relative, a dress of mom’s when she was that age, just the little things that matter most. She is even all-set with great alumni gear to help Mom and Dad cheer on their Bennies and Johnnies when that time comes. This little girl in in for such a long lifetime of love, and I am so happy to have been invited into it!
See a little of that love below…
