FIVE FEBRUARY 2023 GOALS

January 27, 2023

January is almost over, folks. It’s hard to believe we are almost one-twelfth of the way through 2023, but here we are. I have been horrible with setting goals the last few months; this blog changes that.

I have five big February 2023 goals:

  • USE PELOTON ONCE A DAY: Peloton (finally) released an annual subscription plan for their app, and I totally took advantage of it (I love their programming, so it is good to be back with them). My goal for February is to take a class everyday. They offer a ton of fitness, but they also have lots of stretching and meditation classes, too, so there is something for everyday. Try it yourself with this 60-day guest pass!
  • RAMP UP MY MARKETING: I am a serial creative entrepreneur, so I am always always always looking for new ways to market my businesses. Marketing is my favorite thing about running a business, so I am always looking for the latest and greatest ideas. My month starts out at the Marketer’s Heart Conference, a three-day workshop dedicated to all things marketing, so I should be able to glean some really great things that I can use to beef up my communications game.
  • GET BACK TO HEBREW PRACTICE: It’s been almost ten years since I last went to Israel, so my use of my second language has pretty much all but stopped. I hope to be back in the land of milk and honey come spring 2024, so I want to jumpstart my practice again. I use a lot of different tools, Duolingo being one of them, so my goal is to spend five minutes a day working in that app at a minimum.
  • READ TWO BOOKS: I want to read (at least) one fiction and one non-fiction book in February. The fiction I’ve choses is The People of the Book: A Novel, which is a historical fiction about the preservation of a Jewish text throughout the ages, from the forced exile from Spain in 1492 through World War II. It should be fascinating. I haven’t chosen my non-fiction yet…I would like to read one related to the fiction choice (I recently read The Riviera House, which centered on art during World War II and it made me want to read The Monuments Men again, so I would love that kind of tag-team between my book choices), but I will likely pick a business book. I haven’t read Atomic Habits yet, so maybe that’s where I will land.
  • NO-SPEND WEEKENDS: I am a nibbler when it comes to spending money: A little here, a little there…but it all adds up. I’m not a crazy spender, but I would like to get it where I don’t spend any money on the weekends. No Amazon, no Target…nothing.

A sixth goal is to come back at the end of February and let you know how I did…so I will be back!

What is one of your February 2023 goals?

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
