Boutique hotels are the greatest, in my opinion. Independently owned, each with a unique personality…there is nothing quite like them. They are are travel experience all on their own. And when considering a hotel as a wedding venue, there is definitely no place like the Hewing Hotel, and there is nothing like a Hewing Hotel Wedding.

This property, which started life a century ago as a brick-and-lumber warehouse in Minneapolis’s historic (and adorable and chic and my favorite) North Loop, has been renovated into a stellar 124-room and 14-suite hotel that also contains three fab spaces for events: Andrews Ballroom, Commissioner Boardroom, and the Private Dining Space. With the largest space (Andrews Ballroom) boasting a maximum capacity of nearly 200 and the Private Dining Space being perfect for intimate groups of no more than 50, Hewing Hotel can be the perfect accommodation for your day. A Hewing Hotel wedding offers so much not on your day, but your wedding experience as well.

In addition to the flexible spaces, there is also moldability with the menu. Tullibee Restaurant is the on-site catering, and with there offerings, there’s no need for anyone else. A peek at their wedding menu offerings reveals an array of excellent choices. I can speak from experience that the passed appetizers are divine, and their bar packages are certain to keep the celebration lively with worth libations.

My favorite aspect of the Hewing Hotel, though? The view. I am a sucker for skylines, especially that of the Mini-Apple. The rooftop terrace has what has to be the best view of downtown in the city, and it is a wonderful photo opportunity. It’s dramatic, it’s unique, it’s lovely. Pair that with the other phenomenal photographic elements (The lobby! The library! The brick outside! the bridge down the road! Even the pink wall from that establishment across the road–nevermind what business it is, IYKYK!), Hewing Hotel really has everything you could want or need for a chic, amazing wedding day.
