Located on Baich Road, right off of Highway 169 North, there’s a Minnesota barn wedding venue. The landscape is dotted with old homesteads and one-time family farms, some of which have been renovated to have a new life as a wedding venue. But Barn in the Woods isn’t any old barn. It is a new, up-and-coming space that is as trendy as it is rustic, and as sought after as it is welcoming.
The Barn in the Woods Wedding and Event Center was brought into our northern Minnesotan world in 2020. Despite everything that year handed us, the brains behind this building went full-force into their dream. Their effort is our gain, as this area has now been graced with a wedding venue option that is, in their own words, is “[e]legant, newly built and evoking simple western charm, it is truly a magical place for a wedding.”
In my experience as a wedding photographer, it is a pretty magical place for a wedding. The interior of this Minnesota barn wedding venue is big and bright, which creates a warm and inviting space that is pretty picture perfect. The getting ready spaces are just as bright, which is a perk when it comes to those sought-after pre-ceremony shots. The exterior is also full of promise: There are a lot of nooks and crannies and little trails on the property that serve as wonderful backdrops for portraits and group shots.
The proximity of The Barn in the Woods to bigger towns is also a perk and makes this property a great option for any event (they also cater to corporate and private celebrations as well). It is a mere ten minutes from the center of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and just under 40 minutes from Hibbing, so this Minnesota barn wedding venue and event space is close to hotels, caterers, bakers, and really any amenity that one planning an event at this space could need.
