Reusing wedding decor might seem impossible. It might even seem weird. But it can be a really neat blessing in disguise for some elements.
For example…
- YOUR ARCH WOULD LOOK AWESOME IN A GARDEN
This is easily one of my favorite ways to reuse wedding decor. One of my couples who had a beautiful backyard wedding gushed about how their handmade arch would find its new home in their garden. How beautiful of an idea is that? That space where you exchanged your vows could forever have a calming, fruitful, flowering place in your future. Such a gorgeous idea for this decoration!
- YOU CAN USE THE CANDLES AT APPROPRIATE CELEBRATIONS
How cool would it be to have a supply of candles from your wedding for all those times you need them? I think adding wedding reception decorations to the tablescape of your first major holiday would be the sweetest little nod to the day that has made this holiday (and all future holidays) possible. They are easy to store–just keep them in a plastic shoebox until they are needed. Not everyone in attendance will know why that flickering light is so special, but you will, and that will be enough.
- IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE TO DRY AND FRAME YOUR FLOWERS
Why let them just wilt when you could reuse them into something awesome for your wall? I’ve seen this a couple different ways, but the process is pretty much the same; Dry your flowers the way you prefer and then arrange them into a shadow box. Some have used desiccant beads to keep the flower whole, while others hang the whole thing or press the petals. Once the moisture is gone, you can arrange them how you see fit, adorn the front of the frame with your names and dates, and you have a unique memento from your celebration.
Not everything can be incorporated into your life post-wedding (and what can’t be reused and definitely be sold so someone else can make a few more memories with them), but there are definitely ways to reuse wedding decor to keep a few of your memories alive.
Let’s add to this list! What ways would you reuse your decor?
