NON-TYPICAL BACHELORETTE PARTY THEME IDEAS

When it comes to cliches, I like to leave them where I find them. This is especially true when it comes to party themes. Nothing is worse for this than the time-honored bachelorette parties, and I know I am not the only one who tires of that old trope that isn’t classy or even that funny anymore (if I am at a party, the only weiner I want to see is a dog, either hot or a dachshund.  When it comes to bachelorette party themes, there are ways for them to be less phallic and more fantastic. I scoured Instagram using the hashtag #BacheloretteParty, and I saw quite a few cute ideas if you’re not dicking around with your celebration:

THE LAST PITCH BEFORE I GET HITCHED

I love this, as it is a baseball-themed party. Make it a day at the ballpark—take in a game! Make custom t-shirts or jerseys where the number can be the year you met the bride.

LAST SAIL BEFORE THE VEIL

This one is a very Minnesotan idea, and I love it! Make it a weekend away at the cabin, hop on the pontoon, sit by a bonfire, and just hang out with your friends.

LAST TRAIL BEFORE THE VEIL

Into hiking and camping? This is a great theme to take into the mountains or into the woods. Rent a cabin, RV, or even go au naturale and pitch that tent together for your favorite outdoorsy friend.

KISS THE MISS GOODBYE

This one is all glamour, like a grown up slumber party. Think pearls and bright lipstick. Dress up, have your make up done (maybe even have makeovers be a part of the party), sip champagne, and just enjoy the memories.

VINO BEFORE VOWS

A wine-theme soirée never hurts! Whether at a winery or in your own back yard, wine tasting is a great way to have one more get together. It can be a great way to gather corks for a unique guestbook idea.

FINAL FLAMINGLE

Who doesn’t love a tropical party? This theme—which is centered about the pretty in pink flamingoes—is a cute and gives a whole new excuse to drink fruity and coconutty drinks.

FINAL FIESTA

Create a taco bar and rent that frozen marg machine for this theme that is sure to please any Text-Mex loving guest.

[NAME’S] LAST SPLASH

Have a day at the beach with this idea! Get matching swimsuits, customized beach balls, and just hand out in the sand and the surf to celebrate the bride-to-be.

[NAME’S] BLUE RIBBON BACHELORETTE PARTY

Literally just saw this one on Instagram this morning. Love the state fair? It could be the perfect party spot. Built in catering and bartending AND petting zoo. Sounds like an award winning day to me!

LAST BASH IN NASH

Thinking of a destination bachelorette party to the Music City? Do it for one more party in this amazing town.

PARTY ON THE PEAK

This is another one if you are venturing to a legitimate mountaintop for a bachelorette party. This is kind of similar to Last Trail Before the Veil, but specific to certain geographical areas.

THE ONE WHERE SHE GETS MARRIED

Any “Friends” fans out there? Could this be any more for you? Get some can koozies with your favorite quotes on it and have everyone wear a wedding dress (either their own or one purchased second hand) and get together and binge the series (you could even play this drinking game). This theme is a great way to show you’ll always be there for her (like you’ve been there before).

What other non-stereotypical bachelorette party ideas have you seen?

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
