As our society starts to become a little less socially distant, there is no doubt we have learned a ton of different tricks to make it work when we cannot be with our friends and family. Even once we ease back into our new normal, these are a very particular set of skills we will be able to use anytime we need to be together while apart. So what can you do if someone can’t be there for your bachelor or bachelorette party?

1. CREATE A VENMO ACCOUNT JUST FOR THE PARTY

I’ve seen this a couple of times, and I think it is brilliant. Create a Venmo account with a handle for the party that you can share on social. Ask those who couldn’t make it to buy a drink/lap dance by sending money to that account. That gives those that aren’t there a chance to be a part of the festivities of the bachelor or bachelorette party.

2. CREATE A PARTY IN A BOX + CONNECT OVER VIDEO

This is one of my favorite things from quarantine: I had a couple conferences that were held over Zoom, but we received all our conference supplies and goodies in a series of boxes that we would open on the appropriate day. The same could be done for those who can’t make it to your bachelor or bachelorette party. If someone can’t come out, send them a cocktail kit that they can sip as they sign in on Facetime. Send a spa kit to friends who is unable to come to your actual spa day and have them Zoom in. There are many ways to use video conferencing to party…there are a few more ideas in addition to the spa night here!

3. HAVE A MINI ONE-ON-ONE BACHELOR OR BACHELORETTE PARTY WHEN IT WORKS

If nothing else, try to get together with that friend who is MIA for whatever reason whenever you can. I have been that absent individual, and my friends have kindly met with me for mimosas or a mani/pedi another day. This party isn’t about getting stupid-drunk or doing something ridiculous…it’s about celebrating with friends. Any way you can make that happen is all that matters!

What ideas do you have for a socially distant bachelor or bachelorette party?

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
