Hi there! Welcome to the KLP Blog, a journal about all the things that I love about life. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm kayla.

She just kept waiting.

She knew it would happen; it was only a matter of time,

Jennifer was so certain that the other shoe was going to drop. It wouldn’t be the first time.  Twice before relationships that were supposed to be forever never got anywhere close to it. Why would this one with Allison be any different?

The simple answer? Because it just was. This time was different

Well before the shoe could drop, someone dropped to one knee and asked the other to be their wife. After five years together, they had decided on forever. With that yes came a set of “I do” at a fall Minneapolis wedding at the Chart House. Before their closest friends and family, these two lovely ladies promised forever to one another. Despite the earlier clouds, it was a beautiful pre-sunset ceremony; the golden rays of autumn broke out from the gray and found their way through the trees that line Kingsley Lake, illuminating the arch under which these two stood. Jennifer’s lifelong friend, Mary, served as the officiant, regaling us with stories about how she knew this was indeed true love for her friend. Allison’s mother, unable to join us all in person due to the pandemic, laughed alongside us all digitally over Facetime. They wrote their own vows, which naturally brought along more laughs as well as a few tears.

And then it was all sealed with a kiss–and the shoes stay on both feet.

The newly minted wives the celebrated their first married night away with a hybrid indoor and outdoor reception, which all started out with a first dance to Tina Turner’s “The Best,” which is an excellent way to describe this couple and their day.

Thank you for letting me celebrate with the two of you!
