Hi there! Welcome to the KLP Blog, a journal about all the things that I love about life. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm kayla.

It was a fabulous night for a moon dance, even if the starts were replaced with snowflakes ‘neath these October skies.

It is, 2020, of course.

In the beginning of her planning, Emily wasn’t sure if an October wedding this year was even in the cards. As the world around shut down and quarantined, it seemed near impossible that a regular wedding would or could occur. There were a lot of variables at play, but one constant was all it took to move forward: Her love for Spencer.

So it was so: A fall wedding, where the leaves on the trees would be falling to the sound of the breezes that blow. Of course, these breezes carried some of the heaviest snowfall the tenth month has ever seen, and those fallen leaves were covered with a coating of the icy frosting, but it was no deterrent. Just as the orange MNDOT trucks do, Emily and Spencer plover through anyway with their autumn “I dos.” The raising of a tent and the adorning of a elegant white coat (a Christmas present from her mother-in-law Lori) was all they needed to make their magical, celestial-themed celebration a go.

And it was just as magical as planned, even if it wasn’t as originally planned.

A intimate, family-centered ceremony was followed by a reception at Stick’s Tavern at Chaska’s Dahlgren’s Golf Club. Guests were treated to a pasta dinner, which was followed by a self-serve sundae station for dessert. A live band entertained post-first dances, playing from a catalog that included some of the greatest hits of all time.

There may not have been the typical October skies, but it was magic. No whispers to hushes needed to describe it, either. It was evident to all of us who were lucky enough to witness it.

Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Hanson!
