Even though the screen said “Paused” over a blurry photo, we could hear Megan’s toast clear as day; Brittany held the microphone up to the iPhone speaker to be sure of it. Unable to join us all in Duluth aboard the Vista Star, Megan Zoomed in all the way from Atlanta. Gussied up an in her matron of honor dress, she gushed from afar about her best friend since they were seven years old, how driven and dedicated Brittany is an all parts of her life. There is one area where this feisty and bubbly woman doesn’t give it her all, and that now includes her new role as wife to Tom.
It was a sweet speech, delivered in an unconventional way…but then again, Britt and Tom anything but conventional. Tom was once ask when he was going to propose, and he responded by saying not until she does. Low and behold, Britt did just that: With an extra special fishing lure, she asked him to marry her. He responded with his own question during hunting season. If that doesn’t speak to the heart and humor of these two, I don’t know what does.
Their heart and humor also has a very sentimental side. Britt’s dress wasn’t just any dress—it was her mother’s; it’s vintage flair paired with a few modern elements (a rhinestone belt, glammed-our Badgley Mishka shoes, and a little less floof) was perfect for her personality. A touch of teal adorned the gentlemen, and Britt was even thought to invest in a black hat for Tom (so when we wore it, it would at least match).
Congratulations again, Mr. and Mrs. Debeltz! Thank you for letting me celebrate with you!
