It’s a proven fact that everyone loves Lake Superior. Straight up truth bomb right there.
Because of this, I shoot more destination weddings along her polished rock shores than I do anywhere else. That is more than OK with me (I love that lake, too).
If you are also OK with that, you might want to check out the Larsmont Cottages of Two Harbors.
Located on forty private acres with 1300 feet along Lake Superior, this venue is the perfect getaway for your intimate wedding. Celebrations on this property gain access to the patio, bonfire (complete with s’mores), and yard games.
The private dining area will comfortably host up to fifty guests, who will no doubt drool over the culinary choices made and created by Ledge Rock Grille (I had their pumpkin ravioli the last wedding I attended at Larsmont, and it was perhaps the best pasta I have ever eaten).
An additional bonus to having Larsmont Cottages host a destination wedding is its amazing proximity to much of Minnesota’s North Shore. It is aquick ten minutes away from Two Harbors (where you can enjoy a slice of the world famous Betty’s Pies). Also, it is only a fifteen minute drive to the gorgeous Gooseberry Falls. A thirty-minute ride south gets you into Duluth and all that city has to offer. If anyone in the party is feeling adventurous, a two-and-a-half ride up Scenic Highway 61 will have you knocking at the northern border. Larsmont Cottages puts your destination wedding guests in the perfect spot to explore all that make this lake so great.
Aside from all these benefits, it is also a beautiful property for your wedding photography. Naturally, there is the lake. There is also beautiful hardwoods and evergreens that add a ton of variety to your images. The cottages themselves are fashioned after those that one would find in a Scandinavian fishing village and provide great photo opportunities.
They are the self-proclaimed “Most unique wedding venue on Minnesota’s North Shore,” and they aren’t incorrect in saying so. Couples planning a Lake Superior destination wedding should consider Larsmont Cottages. Learn more at their website, and find them on Facebook.
