A fall Lake Superior wedding at Two Harbors’s Larsmont Cottage can be a dream year round if potential weather phenomenon are ignored.
What rain?
What wind off the lake?
What soggy ground?
Mother Nature can wreak havoc come fall along her greatest lake, and sometimes she succeeds (if you don’t believe that, visit in February). But when she was planning her mischief for October 5, 2019, she cleary didn’t think about who’s wedding she was messing with. She underestimated Keely. This spitfire of a lady wanted a Lake Superior wedding, and come hell or literally high water, she was going to have it.
So she did what any rational woman would do: She went out, bought a couple of cute matching clear umbrellas with classy gold dots, and did the damn thing.
And it was amazing. Their first kiss photograph was one of a kind, and totally true to these two. Everything about their day spoke true to who they are as a couple and their value of their family and friends. There were groomswomen asScott’s sisters Beth and Melissa stood by his side—all three rocking top hats. Keely was escorted by both of her adorable parents while clutching her bouquet and her mother’s bible from the main lodge of Larsmont Cottages down to the little overlook where they would say their “I do.” They exchanged their own beautiful handwritten vows from underneath their matching umbrellas before completing a sand ceremony underneath a tent and exchanging their rings, which led straight to their unique, rain-drenched first kiss.
Nicholas Sparks wishes he wrote fiction as beautiful as their reality—a reality that will have them adventuring together with their fur babies, Mitzi and Fife for years to come.
Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs Kerlin!!
