The simple summation of Tyler and Cleshawn’s wedding day was written forty years before it happened by a funk band who had no idea how accurate it would be on September 21, 2019.
When a couple choose a venue as magical as the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, the intention is to have an outdoor ceremony. There, in nature, with a gorgeously curated collection of Mother Nature’s most beautiful buds and blooms, it is a perfect place to say “I do.” When that very same Mother Nature toys with us, then, threatening rain, all we can do is hope for the best.
For Tyler and Cleshawn, the best is what happened. They had set up for that outdoor ceremony at the Minnesota Arboretum in Chaska that Saturday. Even though the clouds spit a few sprinkles, love was changing the mind of pretenders while chasing the clouds away, just in time for their Sensory Garden ceremony. A few of summer’s remaining monarch floated and fluttered from flower to flower as Tyler’s friend, Steve, regaled nearly 150 of the couples closest friends and family with stories, anecdotes, and jokes. Their future was sealed with a kiss that followed heartfelt vows and their exchange of rings. Their processional was to what other song than “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Even though the best happened for these two on their big day, the best is yet to come for these two. There are more half marathons to race, more celebrations to throw in their new home, and more fur babies to adopt. There is also a January honeymoon to New Orleans, Louisiana, which will be a great break for the new Mr. and Mrs. to get out of the Minnesota cold.
Congratulations again, Mr. + Mrs. Hendrickson! Thank you so much for letting me celebrate with you!
