Ali + Brad: A lake full of love I ENGAGEMENT

Engagement

Every story has to have a setting; it’s just the laws of literature. Even if it is not explicitly stated or if it is left to the imagination, every story has to happen somewhere, sometime. This literary element is needed in order to create the mood of a narrative, and without that atmosphere created by the this necessary part, well, the story would be quite dull.
For Ali and Brad, much of that story–their never-dull, full-of-excitement story with the coolest characters, such as their friends and their dog–was written in the surroundings of a little lake in Jacobson, an unincorporated little community tucked away in northern Minnesota, situated in the midsts of the Mississippi River. It was along these shores were this local girl met this unknown boy, where they fished and became friends, and where they ultimately fell in love. After ten years, the two have decided to make it official and go from summer loves to husband and wife.
Naturally, then, this context would be the perfect backdrop for their engagement session, which it absolutely was. The otherwise gloomy Memorial Weekend provided a peek of the sun Saturday night for just long enough that Ali and Brad could explore their stomping grounds for their photos. The clouds parted just in time for the duo to visit a beautiful velvety field behind the family cabin, a gravel pit with an amazing vantage point for a sunset, the vintage red log cabin the couple called home for a bit, and of course the lake, their with lake family in attendance–it isn’t a lake party if the flotilla isn’t there, and it was certainly there for Ali and Brad.
While this May engagement session may one of the steps in their rising action towards their December wedding, there is no that these two were indeed living right here, right now, in this summer setting of their romance.
