I feel I say it all the time, but sometimes, it really is a small, small world, and not the one at the theme park this couple had just attended with their boys.
I met Jamie and Mike for their engagement session last Wednesday at one of the biggest little spots in northern Minnesota, along the Mississippi River; it’s a place where everyone could be there, but yet you can be all alone.
With the exception of the cute couple and their dog having a lovely picnic by the river, we were all alone…and with the sweet way this couple looked at each other, it was almost like I wasn’t there, either.
There is a natural, easygoing, lovable energy between Jamie and Mike, who will say “I do” in just a few Saturdays. Every single time they faced each other, they busted out into a gentle laughter that provided the sweetest, most natural smiles. It was very clear through my camera lens that these two are the real deal.
Their authentic, peaceful, kind demeanor that became pleasantly apparent as we walked and talked through the woods made it seem like we could have been best friends just hanging out…which made perfect sense, as the more we chatted, the more friends we learned we had in common. It’s not just a small world, it’s northern Minnesota. In this land of ten thousand lakes and a five million faces—all of which that seem friendly and familiar—where we get on this water ride of life with one another, and just enjoy the ride.
I enjoyed my time with Jamie and Mike, almost as much as they enjoyed their time together. It is so exciting to get to spend their wedding day with them, capturing what will no doubt be an amazing beginning to their next chapter in life together.
