If there is one thing I am all about, it is empowering fellow women and letting my camera catch their inner and outer beauty to show each lady how lovely they are, inside and out. Nicole made that job so easy one November day, as she simply shined like the autumn sun above.
Nicole is relatively new to this area, but she has immersed herself into her new surroundings (another amazing aspect of her amazingly bright personality). Her immersion came through so clearly, it was like I had known her forever—while I often feel like I need to keep the conversation going (that’s part of the job), there were many moments where I felt like I was being keeping up with her jovial nature (which was awesome!). She was so incredibly easy to talk to, and it made for one of the quickest sessions to date. Getting to know Nicole through her sessions was seriously like spending time with a best friend: It was comfortable, and it was fun!
I found that with each click of my shutter, this personality was ever present in photographic form as well. She had every emotion a strong lady like her only dreams to have—power, sexiness, silliness, confidence, you name it. Nicole pulled each one off flawlessly, simply because they were authentic. Without any coaxing from me, each one of these attributes just radiated from Nicole. While any one of us can make ourselves anyone we want to be for that mere fraction of the second it takes the camera to capture us, she was who she truly and genuinely is, and that says more than digital image can.
Nicole and I had talked a ton before her session, and we had passed ideas back and forth, specifically in regards to a “power pose;” well, I hope it known that Nicole needs to no power pose, because the woman I met in that Grand Rapids park that Sunday was indeed powerful, and more than #worthit. She is worthy of every great thing that comes her way.
