Hi there! Welcome to the KLP Blog, a journal about all the things that I love about life. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm kayla.

Hiring a film photographer is a great way to capture beautiful, timeless images that will last a lifetime. Film photography offers many advantages over digital photography, making it a great choice for many events, such as weddings, family portraits, and more. Here are a few of the top reasons to hire a film photographer:

  1. Quality: Film photography produces high-quality images that will stand the test of time. A film photographer is able to capture the full range of tones and colors in a scene, giving a more accurate representation of reality than digital photography. Additionally, film photos are less prone to digital noise and other imperfections that can ruin a shot. This is not to say that they are faultless (hello, light leaks), but what goes wrong with film photography generally adds to the character. Remember, film cameras were built to be basically fool-proof (our parents, grandparents, and great-grand parents were able to use them without much trouble), so when in the hands of someone who knows, great things can happen.
  2. Uniqueness: Film photography offers a unique, nostalgic look that digital photography cannot replicate. This is why I offer hybrid photography: Having a few film cells makes any gallery a little extra. The grainy, soft tones of film photos bring a vintage feel to your images that is sure to stand out from traditional digital photos.
  3. Durability: Film photos are more durable than digital photos, meaning they are better suited for long-term storage and archiving. The strong polyester base and chemical processes used in film photography make it much more resistant to fading, scratches, and other types of damage than digital photos. These days, film scans are just as digital as, well, digital photos; however, there is something soothing about knowing I have film negatives as well.

Overall, film photography is a great choice for capturing beautiful, timeless images. From its superior quality and unique look to its durability and cost savings, hiring a film photographer is a great way to get beautiful images that will last a lifetime.
