Do I need a wedding planner?
This is a question that many couples never even ask themselves. Many couples can get away without a hired helper tasked to make their wedding vision a reality. But there might be some instances where it would be considered wise to factor this vendor into a wedding budget.
In my discussions with couples, there seems to be three main reasons why they say “YES!” to hiring a planner:
- YOU ARE HAVING A DESTINATION WEDDING.
Maybe you are taking off for your big day, or maybe you are returning home to your roots. Whatever your reason, it can be difficult to piece together a wedding remotely. Hiring someone in the area in which you are planning your event can help you save time and money. They will most likely have connections with vendors and have built those relationships that will no doubt make your day beautiful and memorable without the stress.
- YOU’RE, LIKE, REALLY BUSY.
You might very well be in a season of life where you just cannot make time to do wedding planning well. Your days are so full that you cannot feasible fit any visits to venues or schedule chats with other vendors. In this case, you might want to let someone do that research for you and let you know what they find.
- YOU HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO START.
Let’s face it: You are probably not a wedding expert. All the magazines, blogs, vlogs, and television shows cannot prepare you for the behemoth undertaking that planning a wedding can become. If you find yourself ready to go but have no idea what direction to head, hiring a wedding planner for help might be a good idea. They will help you keep your timelines and schedule in check, and can offer some very sound advice. They will be as close to wedding experts as we can get (to steal a line from Farmer’s, they know a thing or two because they’ve seen a thing or two).
Hiring a wedding planner doesn’t mean to give up all control; you will always be able to make the final decisions. They are available to help you help yourself in making your already awesome day everything what you want it to be.
