I am a sucker for all things renovated and repurposed (I used to run a little Etsy shop where I did just that: I took old things and turned them into shiny new things).

For the last little while, I have watched a wedding venue turn two awesome old grain silos at her property into on-site lodging in a way so clean, so crisp, it makes you wonder “Chip and JoJo who?” When I shot Kirstie + Bryan’s wedding at her property this past January, the silos were under construction; as I watch the transformation happen via InstaStories, I can’t help but wonder: Is there anything this place won’t do for their couples?

Located approximately two hours north of Minneapolis, nestled right into “Minnesota’s heartland” of Alexandria, Minnesota, this barn venue puts the chic into Rustic Wedding Chic. The exterior is a clean and minimalistic white with silver corrugated steel, while the inside bursts with warmth from the worn barnwood and oversized windows. Chandeliers hang and strings of lights web across the high beams, creating an enchanting mood inside, while a short walk outside will reveal just as much magic as the night sky reflects onto Little Charlie Lake . There is also no end to amenities for weddings held at Gathered Oaks. They provide state-of-the-art sound both inside and out, so sounds is no concern regardless if you are wed within the barn or lakeside. There is a fully functioning bar where brides and grooms can sip their signature drink out of Mason jars as they swing through the lower level cocktail hour space and onto the outdoor patio space. The sweetest bridal space is available, as is lodging–not only are there the two silos being renovated, there is The Farmhouse, a historic house that has ten rooms available, one of which is a honeymoon suite that has both a fireplace and jacuzzi as well as a stunning view of the lake.
