It is said that the whole point of life is to be surprised. We really do not nor should want to know our future, but rather we want to have it develop in front us like a Polaroid picture: Slowly, corner by corner, until we see the full image for what it is worth.
Kirstie and Bryan’s love story has come into being much in the same way as an instant photo – through a collection of beautiful surprises. Their story flips all the way back to college and a simple move-in date that turned out to be a bigger deal than anyone expected. When Bryan’s mom took in Kristie as a renter, neither of them expected one thing to lead to another and another (even if it was a hope and a dream). Hanging out brought these two to love and weekends at the lake.
Years later, during the summer of 2018, it would not be just another cruise around VanDuse Lake in northern Minnesota. Oh no. There was more than just bait on this boat trip, and it was not just another piece of Rapala stuffed into the corner of the tackle box. It was more. Much more.
It was the ring that Reverend Amy would hold up and bless before the collection of close family and friends that joined these two at Alexandria’s Gathered Oaks. In a sweet ceremony adorned with succulents and gold accents, Bryan and Kirstie officially became roomies and fishing buddies for life when they said “I do” and were pronounced husband and wife.
Anyone who knows these two would rightfully know why this evolution in their relationship was inevitable. Separately, these two have the kindest, gentlest hearts, so to have them combined forms what could best be called a good-natured powder keg always on the verge of exploding with smiles and gratitude. Their engagement session was nothing but courteous smiles and kind words, and that followed right through to their wedding day and well into their receptions (and will no doubt continue into their marriage).
Kirstie and Bryan, as the rest of your life together develops, I wish you nothing the most wonderful surprises and joys! Thank you so much for allowing me to be there for your biggest day!
