THE INFREQUENT FLYER’S GUIDE TO OVERPACKING I TRAVEL

While I love, love, LOVE travel, I don’t do it as much as I want. Or need. But then again, can any of us really travel as much as we really want to? Is there really such a thing as too much travel?
Of course not. But there is such a thing as too much packing.
I know this first hand. I am the dictionary definition of a chronic over-packer. I cannot leave the house for work without three bags–my camera bag, a purse (which may or may not have been a diaper bag for a bit…keep in mind I do not have kids), and my lunch bag. Imagine then the chaos in my luggage when I need to be gone for longer than eight hours at a time.
As I have said in a previous blog, “I don’t travel much, but when I do, everything goes with me. Sometimes double.”
It is a solid fact, but I have a simple solution that I am happy to share with you! As I prepare for a summer vacation along the East Coast to visit NYC, Philly, and DC, I am remembering that the packing struggle is real (I might need four pairs of shoes …but so is a helpful little something I made a few years back. It’s nothing much, just a list that highlights the most important items needed for vacation, but maybe it will save you just enough time to squeeze out a few more moments of your plans.
Follow this link to access my free packing list! Save it, print it, copy it, share it–do whatever with it that gets it into the hands of travelers at risk of over-packing and allows everyone that much more freedom for fun!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
