As a wedding photographer, I love the surprises of seeing how my couples have put their days together. In many cases, I have known them for upwards of two years, so it is so cool to see what decisions they have made to make the day unique and their own.

One of my favorite surprises? Seeing how dapper the dudes are. Of course I look forward to the ladies and their dresses, too. There is just something so awesome about mens wedding wear these days. No longer is it just a black tux with a bowtie. There are many, many ways for men to customize their attire—from the tie length and width to the pocket square to even the socks. It is so fun to see.

One of the greatest places that works to be certain that the gents are wedding day ready is Milbern Clothing of St. Paul. They have been keeping men classy since 1946, first as a wholesale establishment and then as a retail business. Their goal for three generations as been “to provide our customers with quality clothing at everyday value pricing.”

This philosophy followed into the wedding experience they provide. They offer suits and tuxedos for purchase as well as tuxedos to rent. All the goodies (shirt, bowtie/long tie, and pocket square) come included with the packages listed on their website. There is even on-site tailoring, so truly everything needed is with one stop. Milbern also has an online shop, too, for the couples who become lifelong clients after the big day.

Any Minnesotan soon-to-be-married would be wise to check out Milbern Clothing. Visit them in person at 1685 University Avenue in St. Paul. They can also be found online through their website, as well as on Facebook and Instagram.

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
