They say rain is good luck on a wedding day. In some cultures, this is because it is viewed as a symbol of cleansing, purity, and fertility.
Monsoon-level rains, 80 mile-per-hour wind gusts, and power outages, well, those must go beyond good luck and straight to a guarantee.
Not that Ashley and Andrew need it.
For these two, everything has always lined up. Always. Things literally started to fall into Ashley, someone known for dropping things, hadn’t let her keys slip out of her hand after classes at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Thankfully, Andrew was right there, and had the gumption and was such a gentleman that he picked up the wayward keys and handed them back to the lovely education major who, a mere few years later, would be his wife.
And that’s exactly what happened that final Saturday in June. 1,153 days after they started dating and 361 days after she said “yes,” they both said “I do!” after a morning of interesting excitement that proves the power of a Plan B. The quickest first look ever, thanks to a massive incoming storm? No worries; there was a sweet couch and a awesome wall we in front of which we could take a few photos. Rain keeps ups from going back outdoors? Turn to a fantastic indoor location known as The White House Co. Power out at the church? Just know that everything about this day was meant to be, and that there will be light (and there was).
The future is nothing but light for this Target-loving, salsa and chip-dipping Minnesota girl and her Twins-cheering, coffee-drinking North Dakota boy; as they demonstrated on their wedding day, even the darkest moments will give way to the best and brightest times of their lives.
Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Randall!
