Sometimes in life, you meet those people with whom you just click. You can finish each other’s sentences. You know what they are going to order at a new restaurant with one glance at the menu.
You know that random blue brick wall in downtown Small Town, USA, is their backdrop, even before you both start walking towards it at the same time.
This is how a session went with Callie, a bubbly and bouncy member of the Class of 2019. From the minute I received Callie’s first Facebook message inquiry, I just knew she would be a blast to work with! She is a girl who knows what she wants and already is an advocate for herself, which is awesome (I wish every one could graduate high school with the ability to say “Hey! This is how I think/feel/belief!” like Callie already can). She came to her session with a solid idea of what she wanted to accomplish, which will for sure serve her well. (As a one-time three-season athlete, I am not surprised that she came organized and with a distinct game plan, which is awesome.)
While being that self-advocate, Callie is as chill as they come. She was so-go-with the flow during her session, always open to to anything, always proving ideas, always a partner in her own portraits. This revealed a natural, kind, nurturing aspect of Callie’s personality, as she just wanted to help (which is always welcomed). It makes perfect sense, then, for her want and desire to enter the medical field to some capacity; she is a natural caregiver, always letting her heart be open and helpful to the task at hand.
Whatever the future ultimately holds for Callie, she will no doubt dominate it. Her focus and warmth towards those around her will not only serve her well, but also anyone with whom she comes into contact.
This is Callie, Class of 2019…
