PSA: If someone is starting your daughter’s/sister’s/friend’s snowmobile, do not worry–it is probably just their soulmate.
Nearly ten years ago, Ali and Brad began their journey towards forever; just like the ignition on that Arctic Cat, something sparked, and it took off into the snow and the woods in search of fun and adventure. From that point on, they had in each other not a love and a best friend, but a riding, fishing, and hunting buddy with whom to enjoy the nature of Minnesota’s northland, a place that is so near and dear to them. It was as natural as that nature for these two to say “I do” in a winter wonderland this past Saturday, alongside the gently flowing, meandering brook at Creekside Farm in Rush City, Minnesota.
Just like this time of year, it was a day full of awe and wonder. Pine boughs, deer antlers, silver and golds mixed with hues of red and green added gentle touches of the season. The cutest quintuplet of nieces and nephews “sleighed” the guests in attendance with their processional towards the altar. Nothing prepared the collection of Ali and Brad’s closest friends and family for what came next. While all waited for Ali to make her entrance, the back barn doors open to a perfect winter sunset, completely with glittery, glistening snow. Like a real-life snow angel, there appeared Ali, escorted by her father Mark, and then entered the building in an absolute glow, and remained radiant throughout her vows and well into the night.
As if there wasn’t enough at this point to be #JoyouslyJensen, the merriment continued with the arrival of Santa Claus himself, who surprised the bride and groom in the middle of their cake cutting with an extra-special gift: An ornament for their First Christmas. This excitement moved the evening into toasts where the bother of the groom and the sister of the bride wished nothing but the best to their sibling and their new sibling-in-law, and then onto the dance floor where, in the cooling mid-December winter’s night, the new couple moved to the music for the first time as Mr. + Mrs. Jensen.
It is easy to think that any day is just another day, but in reality, any day could be THE day; it may be just another Saturday, but maybe it is the Saturday of the Jacobson Classic Snowmobile Run (which may be just another race, but could actually be the beginning of a happily ever after, if we let it, like Brad and Ali have).

ABOUT KAYLA

At home on the road. Forever-focused on authenticity and the thrilling art of creation; always found in the moments that leave me breathless and in awe.

After fourteen years as a high school educator, I stepped back through a door I thought was closed. Journalism came back into my life. Armed with a Masters of Arts in Communication, I was again challenged and prepared to tell the stories that would become history, but with a twist: It is now your legacy of love that I document. The tension I seek is that from every tear, smile, laugh, and moment of love on your wedding day.
